Hedge Fund Buys
If you think like Mr John Paulson, the hedge fund manager whose flagship hedge fund made a return of 37 percent in 2008 (when other hedge funds sank into 19 percent losses), then you should be investing in stocks of Bank of America and Goldman Sachs of USA. These hedge fund buys were revealed in United States regulatory filings recently.
John Paulson, a premier global hedge fund whiz, purchased Bank of America (Boa) and Goldman Sachs stock in the second quarter when a recent regulatory filing was announced.
His hedge fund firm, Paulson & Co, bought 168 million shares of Boa valued at US2.2 billion as of June 20, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It was the biggest new purchase in the second quarter for the 53-year-old hedge fund manager.
Mr Paulson started the hedge fund Paulson Recovery Fund last year to invest in financial firms hit by the mortgage writedowns.
